What is a Girl with Purpose:

Girls with Purpose (GWP) are girls who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Their identity and self-worth are found in God, rather than the world's standards. GWP’s are rooted in their faith and values, and they seek to live a life that honors God and reflects His love. GWP’s finds purpose and meaning in serving others and sharing the gospel. They’re confident in their faith and unapologetically share it with others. GWP’s support and encourage one another in their walk with God. Recognize their strengths and weaknesses and rely on God’s guidance and grace. Most importantly GWP’s are driven, focused, and empowered by their faith to make a positive impact in the world, and their purpose is anchored in their love for Jesus Christ.
 

About the Program:

At GWP, we employ a holistic approach to mentor our youth, integrating both practical and biblical principles to foster their faith, emotional, and social growth. The GWP program is designed to groom our girls in various areas to pursue a life of purpose. The program purpose is to help girls know and understand God created them for a purpose.  

 

The program will help build a firm foundation for a purpose filled life through one on one and group mentoring discussions, life skills training, community service projects, and faith. At GWP we teach our girls how to be accountable for their actions and learn how to foresee the consequences that are exacerbated by their choices. Girls are taught about delayed gratification and self-love in a safe, validating, and fun environment. The program includes a number of empowering and enrichment activities, but our overall goal is to help girls become prepared for a productive and purpose filled life.

Each youth will be assigned a mentor during and up to one year beyond the program’s end. The mentor/mentee relationship is driven by the participant’s interests and goals, and is integral to the success of the program. The GWP Program is mentor-led to develop confident and compassionate leaders, foster spiritual growth and maturity, enhance life skills, and resilience, encourage community service and involvement, and provide guidance and support for life's challenges. The program is 12-weeks held every Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm. Each graduate who completes 85% of the program will receive a certificate of completion.
