Our Founder

“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is The Lord’s purpose that prevails." - Proverbs 19:21.

My name is Sonya Woodard. Since founding Girls of Transformation, I have been honored to be in the position to help other young ladies with backgrounds like mine. I am grateful for the guidance and want to use my experiences and education to impact the lives of other young ladies. My passion is to see young girls flourish into purpose-driven women. I believe knowing your purpose is the start to your life’s work and sharing your true gifts.

When I was a teenager I got in some trouble and I made poor choices. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and that's when my transformation begin. True transformation begins in the heart, with God’s love, and is completely done through Jesus Christ. I believe that transformation is available to everyone who is willing to have faith by putting in hard work and dedication.

We have many plans for our life, but ultimately it’s The Lord’s purpose that will triumph. It’s never too late to fulfill your purpose - and I know that because I’m living it. It’s not where you start, but where you finish that matters.

For the past 20 years, I've worked with youth to share my testimony of all that life has to offer once you start understanding who you are and that you were created for a purpose. All our programs at Girls of Transformation comes from my own personal transformation - my own becoming a better daughter, sister, student, wife, mother, community member, and steward of Christ’s love.

What we offer at Girls of Transformation comes from the heart, and from my own story.

I’m a woman of purpose. I started this organization so I could be that instrument in someone life to give her the proper tools they’ll need to travel down the path of greatness. This is a most humbling and exciting privilege, for which I am most grateful.

I hope you’ll join us, get involved, and share this important work of empowering young girls to

become Women of Purpose.
